It's the day many football fans have been waiting for - the start of the 2018 World Cup.
Tournament hosts, Russia, play Saudia Arabia in the first game.
I think it's safe to presume that Russia will end up winning this one.
Writing about the kick off has be reminiscing about the beginning of the 2002 World Cup. The 1998 winners - France - lost to Senegal in the opener.
I remember it mainly because, the day before, I placed a £5 bet on Senegal to win. They were 10/1.
As soon as the final whistle blew, I walked to the bookmakers to cash in my betting slip. The lady behind the counter asked me quite a silly question.
'Did you really think they would win?'
As for today - I don't think the underdog has a chance of winning. Therefore, I won't be betting £5 on them. That should have answer the sixteen-year question!
