Thoughts After Watching McGregor/Mayweather

Well, I managed to watch the Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather fight in the early hours of this morning and I have to admit that I was surprised.

McGregor managed to hold in there until the tenth round before the referee stopped it.

That second paragraph makes it appear as thought McGregor was on the ropes from the start, but it is absolutely not true. He was mismatched, but he did start off great against the veteran.

It was only the last couple of rounds where it became clear that McGregor was fading. Mayweather announced, in his post-match interview, that the game plan was to take it into the latter part of the fight because McGregor is used to working between 15 to twenty-five minutes in his profession so he would wear himself down at the fight progressed. Sound strategy.

It was a very tiring morning, but worth watching live.
