I watched the British Soap Awards last night and there is something that is baffling me.
Why does a soap that won 'Best Storyline' not win the 'Best Soap' award?
Isn't a storyline the most important part of being a soap opera?
Coronation Street won best storyline for Hayley Cropper's death, yet Hollyoaks left the evening as winners for 'Best Soap'.
Surely there should be a correlation between the two awards. Why didn't people who voted on the best storyline think the show was any good?
Even though it's puzzling, I won't lose sleep over it. As soon as I hit 'Publish', I won't be worrying about it for another year.
