The Ultimatum

Vincent Tan is trouble.

If changing Cardiff City's team colours from blue to red - and ultimately disrespecting the club's history - wasn't enough of a sign. His 'my way or the highway' threat to manager, Malky Mackay certainly is.

According to reports, Tan is trying to find a way to get rid of the man who took the team to the heights of the Premier League.

His ultimatum to the Scot - 'resign or sacked' - is one of the things that is bad about football.

It's also bad for Cardiff City.

I hope he does sack Mackay.

Not because I want to see Mackay go. I don't. His job isn't safe after this, anyway. It never will be.

Malky Mackay is deserving of more respect than this.

He also deserves a day in court for constructive dismissal. There's no way what Tan is doing here is lawful.

If Cardiff end up back in the Championship, there's only one person who will be at fault.

And it won't be Malky Mackay.
