Getting The F Out All Over Again

A number of weeks ago, it was revealed that WWE were now allowed to release old footage bearing the WWF scratch logo that the company used from 1998-2002.

The logo had to be blurred out in anything post a mid-2002 lawsuit between the World Wrestling Federation and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature over the W.W.F. initials.

WWE were set to release a DVD-set dedicated to the Attitude Era in the latter part of this year. However, it now seems to be off.

And there is a possible reason why.

Opponents to Linda McMahon's run for a Senate seat have used old WWF/WWE film against her. The company have just recently removed footage from the Attitude Era so as to - I guess - hide incriminating evidence that may harm the McMahon campaign. Releasing a DVD with said footage, around election time nonetheless, would have given her rivals some ammunition to use against her.

On one side of the coin - cancelling, or most likely postponing, a DVD release may seem like the right route to take for the campaign. On the other - the footage is already out there. Just look on YouTube or Daily Motion.

If they want to get her, they'll find something.
