The Match. The Finish.

The Match.

I managed to catch the Brock Lesnar versus John Cena match from WWE Extreme Rules and I have to say, it was one of the best matches I have seen in quite a while.

Lesnar throwing elbow shots to Cena's head and drawing hardway blood was crazy when you consider the current WWE approach to being a PG-rated product as well as the concussion issue. Still, it set the tone of the match and furthered the storyline of Lesnar trying to legitimise professional wrestling.

The crowd booing Cena but turning to cheer him after taking the nasty beating was superb.

It was a good psychological match-up.

The Finish.

Cena pulling of the victory was puzzling. However, it wasn't surprising.

To me, anyway.

Go back a few days. I said it myself. I felt that WWE would pull the swerve and have Cena leave the pay-per-view as the victor.

World Wrestling Entertainment is paying Brock Lesnar five million dollars for one year of work. This year of employment asks for two days per month. I am scratching my head at the thought process of having this investment compromised in his first match of the year.

I have so many questions and absolutely no answers coming out of the finish.

Was it Vince McMahon showing Lesnar who's the boss?

Is it McMahon sticking the middle finger up to the UFC?

What did people like Undertaker and The Rock think about this finish? After all, next year's WrestleMania could see one of them face Lesnar. Wouldn't it have been ideal for Lesnar to dominate the competition for the entire year and then have Rock or Undertaker stop him?

Will Lesnar come out of this stronger?

Is the contract really just a one-off and we were fooled into believing the five million dollar figure?

Like I have already stated - so many questions.

And absolutely no answers.

Yet.
