EBayers Go Crazy

After posting the picture of the final copy of the News of the World on this blog yesterday, a thought crossed my mind.

I wondered whether people were selling the issue on EBay.

My curiosity proved correct as the site was packed with users selling the final issue. The highest price I saw being paid for one copy was £5 (with an extra £2.50 to cover postage).

I suppose the majority of the buyers were from other countries where the newspaper was unavailable but, still, five pounds for one issue is crazy.

If I am to be honest, I did contemplate buying a few issues myself. I decided against it, though.

In today's edition of The Sun Online, an article boasts that four million copies of the paper were sold yesterday.

They also claim that bidders are paying up to £30 for a copy. I did not see that myself so I'm leaning on that figure being an exaggeration.

If it's true, people are crazier than I thought.
