WWE's 'Groundbreaking' DVD

Jim Ross sent out a tweet recently where he announced that World Wrestling Entertainment are working on a 'groundbreaking' DVD project.

It whet a lot of appetites. I was intrigued as to what the company could be working on to get the 'groundbreaking' tag.

The rumour circulating now is that the DVD is going to be about the real - and worked - rivalry between both Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. Both are apparently going to be interviewed at the same time so the obvious topic covered will be the Montreal Screwjob from 1997.

Is this groundbreaking?

I'd rather call it hyperbole.

Hitman Hart : Wrestling With Shadows was definitely groundbreaking.

The WWE released Bret Hart DVD was groundbreaking.

Shawn Michaels' RF Video shoot interview and then TV interview where he came clean about his involvement in plotting to screw Bret Hart was groundbreaking.

As you can see, the story has been told so many times.

And then some.

Having Hart and Michaels together in this DVD project is surely interesting but it doesn't warrant the hype that it is getting.

With that said, I'll still be buying it!
