Shearer & Cardiff

It is 9pm on Tuesday night as I am writing this so today's (well, tomorrow's post technically) can be old, current or breaking news by the time it is published.

The topic for today - Alan Shearer.

It's looking like he could be the new Cardiff City manager . The odds on him as I sit here have him ranging between 1/8 to 1/3.

I don't know how to feel about this possible appointment.

He was one of my favourite players when I was younger. He was a great player but can a player of his calibre become a great manager?

I'm definitely interested in seeing him take over. I have anxious intrigue into seeing what happens with City.

There is an obvious elephant in this room - Craig Bellamy.

I can't see him return to the club if Shearer does take over. The two have lingering animosity following text messages that Bellamy sent to Shearer years ago.

In a toss-up between Bellamy as player or Shearer as manager I think I'd take...

Have you ever seen that episode of Malcolm in the Middle when the coin landed on its edge?
