A Message To Those Who Don't Know Any Better

The pro wrestling mentality of 'the show must go on' went on for Tommy Dreamer at last night's TNA Turning Point pay-per-view when he evidently hurt his wrist in a match with Rob Van Dam.

A bone was sticking out of his wrist but he still continued.

Brave?

Nah, foolish.

There used to be a time when I would applaud these guys for going on when they are legitimately injured. Taking a step back now - and seeing the real picture - you have to take into account how working hurt can be dangerous for the opponent.

Dreamer could have dropped Van Dam and injured him, too.

If he had, would Dreamer still look a hero or an idiot for continuing when he wasn't physically able?

It's high time this mentality of working injured was put to rest. It leads to painkiller dependencies which could - and has - ultimately led to death.
