That Handball

It's time I aired my opinion on the Thierry Henry handball controversy.

It was a handball and there are two parties to blame for this - FIFA and the culprit, Thierry Henry.

I'm fed up with FIFA and their rules.

Back in 2006, the referee failed to see Zinedine Zidane headbutt Marco Materazzi during the World Cup final but showed him the red card after being informed of the offence by the fourth official.

So, you're telling me that - out of all four judges involved the other night - that not one saw that Henry used his hand to direct the ball?

Another thing that has irked me over the past few days is the damage control mode Thierry Henry has adopted.

He's claimed that his handling of the ball was 'instinctive'.

It would be instinctive for a non-professional to touch the ball in situations like that.

I'm not buying that one.

Thierry Henry's instinct should be to control the ball the way he has done for every game he has played since a young age.

He's a cheat - no doubt about it.
