One of the selections on my weekend betting slip was for the game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears to go over the total of forty-seven.
My system had the game to go over fifty points so I thought the forty-seven was a good number.
With that said, the consensus had the game to go under so I went with my own thoughts on the game ignoring those who know more than me.
The game had loads of touchdowns and field goals and it was looking like hitting forty-seven on the nose near the end of the game when the Vikings scored a touchdown to make it forty-six points in total.
From that point, all I needed was the one point conversion to be kicked in order for the bet to be deemed void which would have been the worst case scenario as there was still enough time on the clock for more points to send the total over.
But.
Just as that touchdown was scored the first thing I thought to myself was 'knowing my luck, that extra point will miss'.
And so it did.
There were no other points scored in the remaining minutes of the game.
