Look Who's Talking About Fair Game

There seems to be rumblings coming out of UEFA headquarters showing concern about the amount of spending going on at Manchester City.

Apparently, the football governing body is looking at setting a ruling where all clubs have to balance out their spending over three years. They must break even or face expulsion from European competition.

Ironically, it is competing for places in these competitions that prompts the clubs to spend on big signings.

Manchester City's owners are the targets of this ruling because they are creating an uneven playing surface due to them luring big name players to big time contracts.

One of the most hypocritical names wanting this ruling to be put in place is Roman Abramovich.

The billionaire bought Chelsea in 2003 and spent a fortune building the club. He enticed plenty of footballers to join his revolution due to his spending and offering of lucrative contracts.

Just like today's Manchester City.

Mr Abramovich set the precedence and he is coming across as nothing but a schoolyard player.

He widened up the goals to suit his style of play. A bigger kid has now come along and is playing a better game.

Abramovich's solution to the threat is to ask for the coats to be placed closer together again.
