It seems the real story about the 'Iraq Knockout' was not what we first heard.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter had a piece on it in the most recent issue and the word Dave Meltzer got was that Joey Styles threw the punch when John 'Bradshaw' Layfield was being pulled apart with his back turned.
I'm not one for bullying, and I don't blame Styles for doing what he did - I just don't think the story is as heroic as I first thought.
JBL deserves to be humbled but it looks like he'll always have the argument that he was defenseless when the fist was thrown.
Such a shame, really. I liked the first report better.
