Like Dead Wasps

I was unable to think of anything to write here this morning so I spent the majority of the day trying to find something interesting to note.

I didn't find anything other than a ridiculous metaphor that I heard on the darts commentary whilst channel hopping this afternoon.

First, I need to explain something otherwise you won't get what I am on about - Dennis 'The Menace' Priestly wears red and black striped shirts which is a play on the Beano character 'Dennis the Menace' and it just so happens his dart flights are patterned in the red and black stripe, too.

During the few minutes I saw of his match the camera did a close-up of a table filled with used dart flights and the commentator noted that they were 'Like dead wasps at the end of Summer'.

There is a crazy darts commentator named Sid Waddell and he always comes up with weird analogies and metaphors but he wasn't the contributor of this cracker.
