The Cancellation

I've finally put an end to Poker Player magazine.

Sort of.

This was the last poker magazine that was left after I ended subscriptions to two other titles earlier this year. I had decided back then that I would stick with Poker Player as it was relatively cheap so I stayed aboard.

I noticed last night that I still hadn't received this month's issue so I thought I would ring them up today and tell them the issue had yet to arrive and that I wanted to cancel once the current subscription ran its course.

The postman beat me.

The issue arrived in this morning's post, over two weeks late. I skimmed through the pages and realised something.

Whenever I get the mag through the post, that's what I always do. I leaf through it and put it aside.

I decided it was time to do my bit for the environment and cancel because it was a waste of paper.

I made the call, got through to the subscription department and informed them that I wanted out. They told me that the auto-renew had already kicked in and I had already paid the five pounds for the next twelve issues.

She offered me a refund and I had a quick moment to think and decided I would get the next year of issues but asked for the direct debit to terminate.

So, I've cancelled but still have a year to run.

Sorry, Earth.
