Shawn Michaels tore his triceps in the angle that aired at the end of Raw last night putting his match with Chris Jericho at this Sunday's Unforgiven pay-per-view in jeopardy.
The injury occurred when Michaels fell out of the ring. Ironically, if it wasn't for his arms softening the fall, the injury could have been a lot worse as he also landed on the top of his head.
The episode of Raw was taped on Sunday night and aired 'as live' last night. This leads me to think that Michaels would have seen a specialist on Monday.
After Raw went off the air, WWE released an announcement on their website acknowledging the injury.
I have this feeling, judging on recent history, that Michaels will gut it out and wrestle on Sunday and then take time off.
He is set to lose approximately six months as a triceps tear means surgery and rehabilitation.
It couldn't have happened at a worse time. Michaels and Jericho were putting on some great television and building up a ton of interest in their feud. On the plus side, it may end up with their return match taking place at WrestleMania XXV.
All World Wrestling Entertainment has to do now is keep Jericho strong in the meantime
