The wrestling news coverage on the Internet changed overnight.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly have decided to merge their two websites which will mean that the Observer will now be available to read over the Internet.
I have been a reader of the Observer on and off since the mid-1990's. The editor is the best wrestling journalist on this planet but the cost of an International subscription to the Observer was one of the reasons why I decided to stick to one newsletter a week (Pro Wrestling Torch).
The new merger has prompted me to buy their $9.99 a month online access so now I can read the Observer as soon as it goes online and not have to pay the high cost and wait for the copy to arrive here.
The membership also includes access to Figure Four Weekly, back issues of both newsletters as well as an abundance of radio shows hosted by Alvarez, Meltzer and other people associated with the site.
I'm going to stick with my subscription to the Pro Wrestling Torch because I enjoy their VIP packages and prefer to have hard copies of the newsletter sent to me. That's one advantage the Torch has over the Observer and F4W membership.
