Russian Roulette

I knew the Champions' League final was going to end in penalties. I was hoping Chelsea would have won, though.

In yesterday's blog I was unsure whether I would place a bet on the match. I did end up doing one later in the day.

I did the bet with Paddy Power bookmakers. I put five pounds on the draw in ninety minutes at odds of 2/1. The best part of the bet, however, was it contained a special offer from the bookie.

The site vowed to return all losing bets if Ronaldo scored in the match.

The Portuguese player scored the opening goal, enabling me to sit back and watch the rest of it knowing I had everything to gain and nothing to lose.

It was the first time this season that I was glad he scored.

The draw at the final whistle in regular time meant I didn't have to rely on Ronaldo's goal to refund my stake.
