Last year, around this time, I titled my post 'Passing Judgment'. I did so because that night the WWE was hosting their Judgment Day pay-per-view and I had decided not to buy the event on Sky Box Office. Instead, I chose to watch it online in a chat room and buy the DVD instead.
Buying the DVD for £10.99 and still getting to watch the event live is better than seeing the show live and paying £14.95. For £10.99 you get a proper DVD!
I never did purchase a pay-per-view from Sky Box Office again after this realisation. I must emphasise that I have only bought one DVD in that space of time, so the plan hasn't really been put into practice.
I was going to do the same last night with the 2008 version of Judgment Day. I had a short nap in the afternoon to prepare for the event but by one o'clock I was beginning to feel weight on my eyelids.
I managed to hold on until the third match. This bout in question was Shawn Michaels against Chris Jericho. The potential match of the night as it featured my favourite wrestler and the guy he has created many a classic outing with.
How could I fall asleep during this?
I don't even remember seeing them lock-up. All I can recall is hearing Michaels' music during his entrance, everything else is a blur.
So, I really did 'Pass Judgment' this year. I'm not sure if I will purchase the DVD as the reviews aren't looking so good. It seems others found it tiresome as well.
