I watched the WWE WrestleMania press conference live yesterday evening and felt like I had seen it all before.
It was the third WrestleMania press conference I was able to view live over the Internet and it was the same as the other two. You just have to change some of the names of the participants, other than that it was like watching Groundhog Day.
The only interesting part of the event was the announcement that Floyd Mayweather will be wrestling at the show. Mayweather came out dressed in a New York Yankee cap and coat. Now, bear in mind the press conference was held in Los Angeles, it made no sense.
The WWE are meant to be portraying Mayweather as the babyface in his feud with the Big Show so why did he come out wearing a rival team's colours and taunt the crowd with a handful of cash?
This Mayweather and Big Show thing may be the biggest mistake the company will make leading to WrestleMania XXIV. It is obvious that Mayweather will make for a better baddie in this grudge match. They need to change this angle before the big day.
I have yet to watch Raw so maybe they have already made the change. But, then again, I wouldn't be surprised if they continued with the route they are currently on.
It's going to get attention either way.
