The Lost Boys 2

There are a few movies that have a cult status amongst people which grew up in my generation. Films like The Goonies and The Lost Boys were so popular that we prayed that there would be a sequel for either one of them. But there never was.

Until now.

I read this morning that the second part of Lost Boys is in post-production and should be released later this year. The movie - entitled The Lost Boys 2 : The Tribe - will be brought out straight to DVD.

Yeah, straight to DVD. Sounds rubbish, huh?

Corey Feldman, who played a role in the first movie, is the only original cast member left from the 1987 movie. His real-life friend who played the lead in the first film, Corey Haim, pulled out a few weeks before filming began.

Does this sound worth the over twenty year wait? I don't think so.

What we obviously have here is a film company (Warner Brothers) trying to capitalise on the current nostalgia trips people seem to have looking for sequels from their favourite movies.

It will all end in tears.
