Going Down

My ISP went down last night knocking me offline for over five hours.

I didn't know what to do with myself. I sat here for a few hours trying to get connected again but my efforts were fruitless.

After giving up I decided I could do a few things I had been holding off - watch the Roddy Piper DVD or catch up on the podcasts I had downloaded but didn't find the time to listen to.

I chose the podcasts.

Within an hour I was trying to get back online abut it was unsuccessful once again.

It made me think, though. I am glad I wasn't in the midst of a poker tournament because I would have been even more annoyed than I already was. Even worse - imagine if I was playing for big stakes at a table and I got disconnected? I shudder to envision how many times that may have happened to some high rollers out there.

I will be a lot more careful when I do return to Internet poker. I don't want to end up knocked offline after posting a big buy-in. That would be even more disastrous than crashing out due to my own poor play!
