Two WWE performers were suspended yesterday following a violation to the company's wellness policy.
The wrestlers - Chris Masters and Harry Smith - were named and shamed due to a new rule in the policy that names were publicly released on or after November 1st.
This is the second suspension levied towards Masters so he will be sitting out for sixty days. Smith, on the other hand, will have a thirty day suspension as it his first offence.
I am surprised at the suspension of Smith for many reasons.
Firstly, it was only a few weeks since he was brought up to the main roster.
The second reason why I find this suspension shocking is because of the experience Smith has with steroids. His father was the late British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith who died from a heart attack believed to be a result of years of steroid and substance abuse.
The fact that the son didn't learn from his father's downfall may be a scary thought at a time when we see a lot of second and third generation performers making their way into the wrestling business.
