I think the person who said 'It's not what you have, it's how you play them' needs to read this post.
I have played poker in a particular way for years and have had some success but in the recent weeks I have noticed that - however way I play - I always end up a loser.
I hit a flush on the flop last night and played it right, I milked the pot by calling the sole player on the post-flop and turn. The problem that occurred with this play was my opponent was chasing a full house and he managed to hit it on the river.
It seems that whenever I play like that I end up beaten. I see other players play in similar ways and win. It never happens to me!
I need to re-evaluate my style because I'm getting nowhere playing this tried and tested measure that Dan Harrington plays*
Time to play a lit looser methinks.
*Mr Harrington may appear somewhere in tomorrow's blog!
