What a headline huh?
I am sure one of the tabloids will have thought of it already so I am making a point of adding it to one of my posts before I go to the shop and find that someone has used it already.
I'm referring to the resignation of Glenn Roeder at Newcastle United. It is hardly a surprise considering the season they had.
I wouldn't blame him, though. He did a decent job considering the team he inherited.
Things were working against him from day one. Alan Shearer was set to retire - and did. Michael Owen has been on the injured list more than the team sheet. The entire team were plagued with injuries.
One of the positive things Roeder did was find Obefemi Martins but even his form has been questionable of late.
I believe they let Roeder go too soon.
He should have been allowed one more season considering Owen is now match fit after nearly a year out and I am sure he will be the key player in the 2007/8 season.
The big question now is 'who will take over?' Sam Allardyce is the favourite to take the post.
But will he?
Late Update - The Sun carried the headline 'It's The End oF the Road' inside their GOALS supplement. I knew someone would!
