Paddy Power the Irish bookmaker is fond of making the odd novelty betting market on a range of topics. I think his sense of humour on certain matters is quite worrying.
Worrying in that it could cost him a bit of money.
But it's all good publicity, right?
Right.
He is getting a post dedicated to him today because there is a market available on his site that has made me laugh. He is taking bets on the cliches that will be said during tomorrow's FA Cup final.
The payout has it's rules - It must be the first quote said and must be commented during the ninety minutes of play.
Here are some of the available cliches:
Worth the wait 6/1
This is one of the favourites for obvious reasons. It has been a long wait until the FA Cup has been in Wembley.
Roberto Di Matteo 7/1
The player is in the record books as being the fastest scorer in an FA Cup final. I wouldn't be surprised if the commentators refer to this considering this historic feat was accomplished when the Italian was wearing Chelsea colours.
The magic of the cup 18/1
A cliche if ever I saw one!
The biggest domestic cup tournament in the world 28/1
It is a known fact - but every year we are reminded by the BBC commentators.
Beamed worldwide to over 2 billion people 66/1
The mass population is a concern for some. It is for me, too. I am sure there will be more than two billion viewers. The Beeb may add an extra billion or so to that number. No way will I risk a quid on two billion people!
Is it me - or is the arch wobbling? 200/1
It took a lot of time and headaches to get that thing open. If the building is wobbling then there must be something wrong!!
And there's Jose's missing dog 200/1
I doubt we will ever see another Gullit at an FA Cup final.
