I used to like reading Jim Ross' thoughts in his weekly Ross Report on the WWE website. So, as I adjust my cowboy hat in homage to Mr Ross, I am going to do my own report.
* No Way Out is this evening and, for me, it is only a one match show. The main event featuring the Raw perfomrers of John Cena and Shawn Michaels against Smackdown's Batista and The Undertaker. This is a great way to whet this fan's appetite for Wrestlemania 23.
*It's been days since I had a game of poker. I had planned on playing the Super Sunday tournament on Sky Poker but the buy-i is £27. I have paid more than that to enter a tournament before but on this occasion I am giving it a miss as I am not placng good money in a game filled with flukey players like those ones on that channel who are new and play with anything and get lucky. A bad investment.
*I did something I have wanted to do for a long time the other day. I probably embarrassed myself in the process but that's not something new for me. I could mke a career in embarassment.
*I made a mistake on Betfred's website on Friday evening. I had been given a free £5 bet so placed a treble on Cardiff, Celtic and Hereford. The problem occured when I forgot to click the box that said 'use free money' and I ended up placing the bet with my own funds. A few years ago my Dad's friend said to me 'if you walk in shit, you'd end up smelling of roses' (he meant it in a good way!). Well, he was proved right when the mistake turned into a positive and I walked away winning £31.09.
*I did forget to place the rest of my football bets, though! I just couldn't be bothered doing any research over the last few days.
*There was a humourous phone conversation with Miguel last night when he asked me if I remembered a croupier from the casino who his brother used to call 'Pot Noodle'. I didn't until he started describing her and then I asked him if he remembered my run-in with her. He didn't. He said I hadn't told him. I know I wouldn't have kept this one quiet;
I was in Liquid nightclub in Cardiff and had drunk a few before I got there. The moment I walked in a blonde girl ran over to me and handed me a bottle. 'I bought you this,' she told me. I took the bottle thanking her and we stood there together by this wall. Now, I was a bit tipsy but knew I didn't know this girl. We just stood together for what seemed like ages and neither of us said a word. We just stood there smiling at each other. I then asked her how she knew me. She then looked at me in shock and said 'You're not my boyfriend!' She grabbed the bottle from me and walked off. She had mistaken me for her partner! A few months later I was sitting at a roulette table and glanced over at the croupier and it was her. She looked really embarassed to see me there.
*I keep listening to a song for England's World Cup campaign called 'Champions of the World' by This is it. I keep singing along to it.
I know you're gonna say 'here we go again,'
This time I believe we're really gonna win,
we've got the team to take you on,
Let's get ungo (?) and come on sing this song....
Champions of the wooooooorld, Champions of the Wooooorld
I keep thinking this tune would make for good soundtrack to a documentary film based in Vegas during the World Sries of Poker's main event. With thousands of people lined up geting ready to try and become the WSOP champion. They would have to get rid of the English football refrences, though.
*I hate Sunday nights without NFL.
*I have prmised certain readers that I will update you all on the season bet that I placed in the summer and see how things are faring for me. I had planned to do it last night but there was a prioity to my Dad's cousin passing.
*Friday's post is going to be great. I promise.
Take care, Folks.
See you at ringside,
Good 'Ol JR.... err I mean DT
