I am glad I have a day off tomorrow because it means I can watch the NFL game tonight on Sky Sports.
The game involves the Minnesota Vikings against the Green Bay Packers and there is a big reason why I have decided not to stay up late.
This could be the last time Brett Favre plays on UK television.
He is contemplating retirement and as the Packers are not headed for the post-season this will be his penultimate game in the green and yellow.
I am not a fan of the Packers but what I am a fan of is the story of Brett Favre. In the years since he started in Green Bay he has won the Monday Night Football game a few hours after losing his father, struggled with Hurricane Katrina as his family were there, saw his wife battle breast cancer and he kicked a pain pill addiction.
As you view celebrities you don't tend to see them as normal people but the football fans and American public have been able to see, through Favre, that they are human after all.
