Mike Dickin

Radio Phone-In Caller: Hello Mike. How are you?
Mike Dickin: My health is not in question. What do you want?

Mike Dickin really was the self-professed 'Britain's Angriest Man'.

I first heard him in the late Saturday night shows on Talk Radio UK back in the mid to late nineties. Over the years he became a big part of the station after it was relaunched as Talk Sport.

One of the lasting memories I will have of him is how he was critical of a caller when he started his sentences with the word 'basically'. Ever since that moment, whenever someone has said that word within my immediate vicinity I have cringed.

He also hated the phrase 'at the end of the day.'

Have you ever heard or seen me type that in any of my sentences?

Thought not!
