Limits And Restrictions

I joined pokerroom.com yesterday and was given $9 for signing up.

I had a few games of poker on Ladbrokes this afternoon and when I ran out of luck on there I decided to use up the free dollars at the newer site on my desktop.

I paid up $5 and entered a sit-n-go tournament and was folding my hands until I was dealt good hole cards and then I realised the mistake I had made.

There was no raise button.

I was playing limit hold 'em!

Limit hold 'em is the most boring game of poker there is. You get no all-in moves unless you are short stacked. You get no chance of controlling the pot and the amount of people limping into the hand and hitting is scandalous.

I prefer my poker in a way where I can make moves on other players and have a good fight over a pot. If I lose, I lose. Not one of these flukey rolls of the dice where you can jump into a pot freely with 7-2 offsuit and hit two pair on the flop and beat pocket aces.

I finished in seventh place and will make sure never to play that style again.
