I had an embarrassing encounter last night which was the result of some good news.
Let me explain.
I logged onto MSN late last night and I saw that one of my former coleagues was online. She is expecting her second child so I wanted to see how the latter stages of the pregnancy was going.
I thought it would be funny to message Julie in the way Shakin' Stevens would so I typed 'Owwww Owwww Juuuuulie!' and then before I got a resply I asked 'how do you like my Shakin' Stevens impression?'
My face turned a burning red when the response back was that it wasn't Julie who I had messaged but rather her mother.
She then told me that Julie had had her second girl at six that afternoon weighing in at 8lbs 5oz.
I was cringing when she was chatting to me and I couldn't get out of the program fast enough. The embarrasment has lasted all day. I keep thinking about how foolish I must have looked and have decided the best way to overcome it is write about it here in the hope that it it clears my shame!
