After realising that I needed to improve on end of tournament play I decided to play a few heads-up games.
Heads-up is a one on one tournament where both players start with 2,000 chips and the winner takes all.
I started at a $2 table. I won.
Then I went up a level to $3 and disposed of that player.
I thought that I would then try a $5 table. The result remained the same; I was victorious once again.
So my record reads as three wins out of three.
I have a busy tournament schedule ahead of me for the next few days. On Saturday night I am taking part in the APAT Canadian Amateur Poker Open and then two freerolls on Sunday and Monday night. I then intend to take a week off.
The relaxation period is what I think will help my play in the long run. A lot of poker magazines and books that I have read have suggested that breaks are good for your game so I have decided that, instead of taking a day off here and there like I usually do, it would be better to take a full week away to clear my head and come back fresh.
