Cameras And Action

There has been a lot of dicsussion on the Pro Wrestling Torch message board about the use of cameras in professional wrestling.

The main part of the debate has been the fact that Carlito Cool and Trish Stratus had an intimate talk together in front of the camera when they were meant to be 'in private'.

My argument is - Get over it!

It's professional wrestling. A programme that has often been classed as a 'male soap opera'. The use of the camera in situations like this is a tool in order to further storylines and angles.

The response I have got to my post about getting over it seems to voice that the company should remain consistent and have wrstlers either acknowledge or ignore the camera. There should be no middle ground.

When you arrive at a decision like this, however, you are making even more damage. You're either doing a programme that requires no fan involvement or you're doing a show that speaks to the viewers in order to hype up the upcoming events.

Pro wrestling isn't high brow entertainment. You are meant to suspend belief for two hours per episode. If you are annoyed at cameras being somewhere where they shouldn't then you need to do something simple.

Switch the channel.
