After vowing to play badly in the quest to win some hands at poker I made an enemy.
I was in a ladders game on Ladbrokes and was dealt an 8 and 6 of clubs and called a raise when I was the big blind.
The flop contained another two clubs plus a six so I had a low pair plus a flush draw against one other opponent. I decided I would play on and called all of Salomo's bets.
We ended up going all-in after the turn and he turned over a pair of kings. I was defeated.
Until the river gave me an eight!
This sent Salomo into a tirade accusing me of poor play. I told him I had two suited cards and the flop had another two cards of the same suit but he wouldn't let up.
A few minutes later he came back to the room and was arguing again. This time he announced he had gone out of his way to check my score on the Ladbrokes tournament players league to see how many points I had won in tournaments this year.
I then thought it would be best if I added a little fuel to his rage by saying 'admit it, you are looking me up because you fancy me'. He then said he wanted a game against me so I could lose my money to him.
I know how he felt - I have had far too many bad beats over the last few weeks but I never had anyone responding to my comments when I was beat. I think I made him feel even more angry with my cocky response.
I have to be a bad boy of poker somehow. As for his request for a game one on one? Well, I'm crazy..
... But not that crazy.
