So Far

The World Cup has been Okay. My World Cup betting, on the other hand, has been dreadful.

I still have a few open bets but am going to concentrate on the goliath I did that will win me over £46,000 if everything I predict comes in.

Yes, I know it is doubtful that I will predict everything in the group stage placing but a few results in my favour will return me a profit from my £24.70 wager.

As the matches have gone on I have been taking notes and calculating possibilities of the teams finishing in the places I want them to. Here are the things I need to happen so far.

GROUP A

I predicted Poland to win the group and Germany to finish in second place. At this moment Germany are at the top of the table.

The ideal scenario for me is for Poland to beat Germany in the game tonight. This will place the Poles in a tie for points with Ecuador and Germany the thing that would work against me is goal difference. I need Poland to get loads past Germany!

As for Ecuador V Costa Rica - I would like a Costa Rica win then I have to hope that in the final games Germany and Ecuador draw and Costa Rico submit victory to Poland.

GROUP B

My hope is for Sweden to win the group and England to be runner-up. Currently England are first and Sweden and Trinidad are both second with a point a piece.

What would I like? Well, I want England and Trinidad to draw tomorrow and Sweden to beat Paraguay. Then in the final games I would like Sweden to beat England and Trinidad to beat Paraguay.

GROUP C

I would like this to finish with Argentina to qualify and Ivory Coast to finish second.

So another two wins for Argentina and Ivory Coast to win their last two games is the only way to go to win this part of the bet.

GROUP D

Portugal need to win and Mexico have to finish second in this group. So far it has looked good for both teams.

My hope here is for Portugal to beat Iran and Mexico to defeat Angola. This will then leave it to the final match between the two and then a Portugal win will be where they get 9 points, the Mexicans will be sitting on 6 and it doesn't matter what happens in the Iran V Angola match as they will both be sitting on 0 in points.

GROUP E

I would like the Czech Republic to win this group with Italy in second place. Both have won their first matches but the Czech team scored more goals.

My wish here is for the two teams to continue their winning ways against the other two teams in the group and then in their meeting a draw or a win for the Czechs will seal it. Goals will be a key here.

GROUP F

This one needs to end with Brazil on top and Australia running behind. The current table is looking good. Both teams have won their opening games although Australia have scored more goals.

I want Australia and Brazil to end in a win for the Brazillians. Japan and Croatia need to draw with each other and then they both need to lose to their respective opponents in the final series of games.

GROUP G

I need France to win the group with Switzerland in second place. They both drew with each other in the opening game to Group G so wins for both teams in their remaining games is the only way to win. Once again it will come down to goal difference so France need to start getting a few in!

GROUP H

Ulkraine must win and Spain need to qualify. This one is going to be hard now as Spain obliterated Ulkraine today. Luckily for this bet, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia drew with each other in their match.

The way this bet will work is for Spain to lose one and draw one of their next games and for Ulkraine to win their remaining games and get a load of goals. Another ideal thing is for Spain to draw all their remaining games, that too would enable Ulkraine to reach the top of the table.
