Swimming With Sharks

I was attempting, once again, to qualify for the WPT event in France by playing a $4 ten seat satellite to the daily finals.

I entered the game knowing that the top two places won entry to tomorrow's game at 7:15pm.

It came down to the final three and then I noticed something odd. The two other opponents seemed to be working together. I was low on chips at that point compared to the other players as well so needed to dent one of them so waited until I hit a good pair of hands.

I was dealt 7 10 and then the flop had 7 7 K. As I was the Big Blind I got to see the flop so I was staying in the hand. One of the guys had folded leaving the other one to fight me. I figured he must have had a King so I called his bet. Then out came an Ace. I was hoping he had hit two pair with AK because I was going to hit him where it hurt.

I went all -in. He called with the cards I had anticipated. I won the pot.

From that point I let the other two fight it out as they had no choice but to knock each other out. When there were two of us left the game ended and I won my place in the semi final.
