No Way, Jose

I buy a copy of the Racing & Football Outlook every Tuesday in order to get some tipping suggestions for my bets. In recent weeks I have been fairing well with their Tuesday night greyhound picks and have been adding them to big combination bets and making a fair profit from them.

Even their golfing tips became beneficial to me as they were the main source of research for winning the Gambling God competition with Inside Edge magazine.

So with the newspaper in hand I decided to do an each-way super heinz on the football, golf and greyhounds.

My selections were Colchester United to beat Hartlepool, Lee Trundle to score first in Swansea City's game against Swindon, Jose Maria Olazabel to win the Verizon Heritage and four dog races.

By Tuesday evening I had made back £19.86 from the £24.00 I betted out after Lee Trundle and Westmead Swift in the 9.07 at Hove were the only ones out of the five bets that night to let me down. It all rested on Olazabel.

A week earleir he had won Top European honours in the US Masters and the paper predicted he would win the weekend's event. The betting site had him at 20/1 to win and with each-way odds paying out at 5/1 if he were to come between second and fifth I just needed him to finish in any of those positions to walk away with a profit.

He had been cut by the end of Friday's round so I ended up a fiver down overall.

I will be attempting another one this Tuesday once I get the greyhound tips. I fancy Barcelona and Arsenal to win their football matches in midweek so will probably include them. As for the golfers? I think I'll give them a miss this time.
