Same Old Thing

On this day in 1997 I started my first 'proper job'.

I had worked as a paperboy and a glass collector before it but this time I had to hand over my National Insurance and bank details so it was the real thing.

Back then I was a seventeen year old with a big mouth who was in sixth form looking for extra money to spend on his partying.And now look what I have become!

In looking back at those nine years it's weird to think that I have experienced a lot in that time. Hell, the world itself has been through a lot. This was the time before 9/11, the death of Princess Diana, the Tsunami in Asia, the rise of power of the Labour Government, Cardiff City getting promotion in to the second and first divisions....

Okay, I am going off on one now. I just wanted to convey how much change has occured both around me and with me whilst doing the same old thing nine years in.
