1:00

On Thursday, I published a post titled 2:00. In it, I wrote about attempting to buy a couple of cans of beer that have been produced to celebrate fifty years of Cadbury's Creme Eggs.

It was titled 2:00 because the company that sold the beers had sold out within two minutes of the item going on sale at 11:00AM on Wednesday morning.

I closed the post speculating that the lack of stock was on purpose in order to build a demand for the product and stated that I had no intention of trying again when more stock would be available from 11:00AM on Monday March 8th.

Well.. yesterday morning, I had a letter from my bank. I had set up Apple Pay on my iPhone when I first tried to buy the beers as I thought it would be a quick way to pay.

The letter reminded me that the new stock would be on sale. I checked the time - I had ten minutes.

'I may as well give it another go,' I thought to myself.

Just like last Wednesday, I waited until 11AM and then refreshed the page. I added the beer to my cart and then went further than I did the first time.

I reached the 'queue' in which I had to wait a moment before making it to the checkout.

As soon as I reached the page to make the payment, it read...

OUT OF STOCK

I looked at the clock - it was 11:01AM. I got one step closer than I did on Wednesday, but the stock had sold out a minute quicker.

There's a saying about 'fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.'

I'm a fool. However, I'll retain the same notion I closed Thursday's post - I'd much rather have a real Cadbury's Creme Egg, anyway.
