Tasting 'merican Foods: Andy Capp's Ranch Fries

I bought a box of American sweets and crisps the other day, so thought I would do something different for today's post and try one of the things I bought 'live'.

The first thing I took out of the parcel was a packet of potato snacks called 'Andy Capp's Ranch Fries'.

For those who don't know, Andy Capp is a newspaper comic strip that has been around since the late 1950s. He's a sports gambler (Andy Capp - handicap, get it?) so the fact that - over in America - he has his own crisps brand was very intriguing.

After opening, I've pulled out a few of these 'fries'. They look kind of like the salt and vinegar sticks that supermarkets sell (or like Chipsticks that can be found everywhere else including supermarkets). However, these don't look as greasy or with as many crumbs.

As for taste....

.....okay, these taste like... Original Doritos (which obviously why they're called 'Ranch' flavour in the US!).
