The Haribo Suspension

There's a story on the Mirror website today about a schoolgirl who has been suspended from school for throwing a Haribo sweet at her teacher. The reason behind her suspension has been credited as 'assault'.

The mother and daughter are both pictured in the article holding one Haribo each and all I have to say is.

Lame.

The fact that the mother thinks her daughter has been wronged is shocking. And to try and make a mountain out of this situation - by going to the press - is another sign of bad parenting. At worst it's a sign of a lack of self-awareness.

Your child did wrong. How about teaching your kid that throwing ANYTHING at a person deserves some sort of consequence?

Is a suspension the wrong form of punishment? I don't think so.

Do the crime, pay the time.
