So, I did end up trying to view the partial solar eclipse yesterday morning.
The positive - it was better than the time I tried in 1999.
At around 8am, I thought 'oh sod it' and decided to make a pinhole viewer. Then, when it was near time, I had a go following the instructions.
The sky did get dark, but it wasn't as cool as the images I have seen on television and on the Internet since that time.
I wasn't the only one form my area giving it a go. I did notice a lot of people in the street opposite looking up in preparation.
Eleven years until the next one..
