Hitting Up A Tune From The Past

On Saturday night, just before bed, I found myself looking for a radio station to listen to to while away the time it takes to drop off.
I usually listen to Sports Byline USA or Talk Sport but didn't feel in the mood for them. As I looked, a familiar image met me.

The cover of 2Pac's 'How Do U Want It?' single.

I purchased the CD way back in 1996, a few days after the rapper was shot in Las Vegas for one reason and one reason only - the final song on it is Hit 'Em Up.

Hit 'Em Up is a diss track where Shakur makes a scathing rhyme against the likes of the Notorious B.I.G, Lil Kim and almost the entire state of New York.

It is quite the song and contains so many swear words that even I cannot sit here and count (trust me, I did try!).

Upon seeing the image on my iPhone screen, I wondered to myself 'how can they play that song on the radio with all those swear words?'

Curiosity won out. I hit play just to see how it came across on the radio.

It didn't work out well at all. The lyrics kept having to be muted as each swear word was meant to have been uttered.

With that noted, I wasn't that surprised.

If you have never heard of this song, go to YouTube and search for it. Preferably the unedited version.
