No. 18 Is #2

I hadn't been following the NFL's Top 100 players of the 2012 season programme on NFL Network until last week where the players ranked one through ten were revealed.

The list is selected by NFL players. This makes for interesting debate and controversy.

It was great to see Peyton Manning listed as second. There was a lot of doubt on whether he would last a full season after taking 2011 off following numerous neck surgeries.

Ironically, he still made the 2011 Top 100 - despite not playing - because his absence from the Indianapolis Colts was fully evident. The team fell to a 2-14 record without him. Before 2011, Manning was that Colts team and it showed in last year's votes.

Manning's new team, the Denver Broncos, did well in 2012 and I have a feeling they could go all the way this coming season.
