Stung

The Indianapolis Colts were my pick to win the Super Bowl and before kick-off they were favourites to beat Pittsburgh in their divisional play off game. I decided the odds weren't too great on the Colts to win so I didn't bother betting on them.

When the Steelers ended up being 14-0 up in the first quarter I decided that was the most opportune time to bet on Indianapolis to win the game so I placed £7 on them to win.

By the beginning of the fourth quarter my team were losing 21-3 and the opponents were well on their way to the conference game next week.

But Indy fought back!

With about 3 minutes left to play the score was set at 18-21 and the Steelers ended up winning the ball back and managed to get the ball to the 2 yard line with a First and Goal. As luck would have it Jerome Bettis fumbled the ball for his team and Indianapolis recovered and took the ball down to near the half way line.

Three downs later and Indianapolis needed to kick a field goal to put the game in to over time. Hope had died when Pittsburgh had the ball but now it had been resurrected following the fumble. It all rested on the field goal.

And it went wide.
