Piecing Together A Dream Jigsaw

I was laying in bed this morning trying to work out what I had dreamt about. I was struggling to recall what had woken me up, so I tried to piece the dream jigsaw together.

The attempt to work it all out wasn't as successful as I had hoped. However, I do remember part of it. And it's worthy of a post on here.

For some reason, I was lost in an area close to me. In real-life, I would know how to find my way back home. However, in this dream, I was walking in the wrong direction - and knew I was doing so. I ended up by a park and saw a stray dog walking around on its own.

The dog hadn't seen me. I slowly walked back out of its view because I didn't want it to notice me. It was a collie and I was saying to myself 'I don't want a do-gooder dog to help me find my way back'.

Dreaming Of A Collie

I suppose I knew my way back home in the dream after all. I was being stubborn. I didn't want Lassie's help.

Anyway, I thought I had escaped. My perfect getaway failed because there was a gap in the fence around the park. The collie found me and started to follow along.

And that's all I remember. I don't know if I made it back home. If I did, I brought a new pet with me.

Wow, after writing what I did above, I thought I would check a dream interpretation of collies.

I am quite stunned because it reads 'collie symbolism is asking you to come home to yourself'. It tells me to 're-establish' my priorities and 'stay focused on the present'. It also could be a sign that I have forgotten who I am.

It was quite amazing to read that. But, to be realistic, the collie is symbolic of Lassie who helps people find their way back. That's the more likely reason why it was that breed which came to my aid (or tried to!) last night.
