My friend gave them as a Christmas gift in 2023. She had sent the parcel weeks before Christmas, but - in the meantime - Squeak passed away. When I opened the gift, it was so nice to see those socks because one of my favourite photos I have of Squeak is from when he wore a red collar like the cat on these socks.
My friend apologised, but I was far from upset. She didn't need to be sorry for starters. I told her I'd wear them as a tribute to Squeak on his unofficial birthdays (May 25th) and each December 9th.
I'm wearing them to represent it being International Cat Day today.
