After watching what I thought would be the first of two episodes, I went downstairs to get myself some water. Upon returning, The Likely Lads was on my screen. I initially thought I must have brushed against the remote control or something so I picked it up to return to 5Select.
Well - it was ON 5Select.
The channel had been advertising the option to stream episodes of the Australian series, so I opened the app to see whether it was possible to catch the episode following the one I had watched.
I couldn't.
I had seemingly gone as far as Channel 5 could allow.
The channel halted its run at episode 505, which is the final instalment of the sixth season. I make that one hundred and eighty-seven episodes short of the goal.
So - Channel 5 (and its offspring channels) can no longer be my go-to for this Prisoner Cell Block H marathon I have been running for months.
I've found a channel on YouTube which seems to have the entire series of Prisoner, so that'll be what I'll use to reach the end.
I am already six episodes in after catching a few over the weekend.
It has been a blessing to find this YouTube channel. It will allow me to go at my own pace rather than having to stick to the two episodes per weeknight routine I had been on.
