A Few Words About Michael Madsen

It's coming up to thirty years since I first watched Reservoir Dogs. I remember the day well because I was with my aunt and uncle at their home and we had just seen Jon Daly win the 1995 British Open. That evening, we sat down and watched the film - rented from a shop.

Looking up the date, it's a little under three weeks away from the anniversary.

The reason why I opened with that memory is because Michael Madsen - who portrayed Mr. Blonde in the film - has passed away.

Madsen also starred in my second-favourite film ever: Donnie Brasco. So, it should come as no surprise for me to be thinking back to my memories of his work ever since the news broke yesterday.

He played those gangster figures so well. Very believable.

Donnie Brasco Publicity Photo

Here's a publicity photo that was inside the special edition Donnie Brasco Blu-ray set I bought in 2017. As you can see, the image has Johnny Depp, Bruno Kirby, James Russo, Al Pacino and Madsen on it.
